Lighting of the historic centre of Vilnius, Lithuania
In the historic centre of Vilnius, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, different architectural styles intertwine, offering visitors a unique and unforgettable experience. To illuminate it, Niteko supplied 638 Venere T luminaires fitted with light shields, with a power rating of 25W–100W. The project complied with the strict criteria of the European standards and ensured visual comfort and the absence of light pollution.
NITEKO solution
The use of customized optics prevented light spill, directing the light beam precisely onto the area to be illuminated. The luminaire’s mechanical design complied with stringent technical requirements:
- Separate compartments for the electrical components and LEDs
- Tool-free opening
- Access for opening and maintenance without having to remove the luminaire from the suspension cable
- NEMA socket
All these requirements were met by Niteko’s Venere T luminaires, making them ideal for illuminating historic town centres and residential areas. The luminaires are ENEC-certified and feature photometric data verified by an independent external laboratory. The luminaires were installed on suspension cables strung between buildings, with wide spacing between luminaires, in compliance with stringent lighting design requirements. They were also equipped with shields to eliminate excessive light and prevent potential disturbance to residents of neighbouring homes.
