Innovation Manifesto

At NITEKO, we believe that light is a responsibility, even before it is a source of energy. Every system we design is the result of an ethical and environmental choice, as well as a technological one.

Building something that lasts is a statement of principle, not just a technical choice. In a market that pushes for rapid replacement, we measure a product’s value over time, not at the point of sale. Every NITEKO luminaire lasts twenty years: a waste of materials is always a waste of the planet’s resources.

Durability is
our political act

Durability is
our political act

We grew from a university project and have never stopped asking questions. The scientific rigour of our first LED street lighting installation, in 2005, continues to guide the development of materials, photometric specifications and dynamic control systems today. Innovation does not mean simply updating a price list: it means constantly re-examining every solution until a better one is found.

Research is not a department:
it is a method

Simply choosing LED lighting is not enough to be sustainable: environmental impact is measured across the product’s entire life cycle, from materials to end-of-life recyclability. This initiative gave rise to Lorelux, the first brand of LED luminaires made from recycled polymer – up to 90% of which is PSV-certified – produced entirely in Italy, with a body designed to be recycled up to 100% at the end of its life through dedicated recycling channels.

Sustainability is measured,
not merely claimed

Light is not neutral: it influences the safety of a road, the liveability of a square, the circadian rhythm of those who live there, and the wildlife that passes through it at night. Good design means listening to a context before illuminating it, crafting a bespoke solution – photometric specifications, colour temperatures, wattages, and coordinated RAL colours. A street lighting fixtures must belong to its surroundings.

Every place has its own light

Every place has its own light

Our lighting fixtures are designed, programmed and assembled by hand by a single operator, who is familiar with every component and is responsible for the end result: the highest form of quality control we know. NITEKO measures its success not only in terms of energy saved or systems installed, but in what remains: the quality of the light, the product’s lifespan, and the impact that has not been made.

Quality comes from people, not processes

Reshaping light

Reshaping light

Because for NITEKO, care for the environment begins right at home.

NITEKO’s headquarters is far more than a workplace: it is the tangible expression of the values that guide everything we do. The building has been designed to NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) standards, the first of its kind in Puglia, meaning near-zero energy consumption, integrating advanced technological solutions for energy efficiency, the generation of energy from renewable sources, and maximum comfort for those who work there every day.

An environment designed to minimise environmental impact, where sustainability and innovation are not mere statements of intent but translate into tangible architectural, engineering and operational choices.
